Work on the shelter for the Sir Samuel Kelly has actually commenced. After a few false starts, finally it's underway. The contractors have been in Donaghadee this week, erecting the steel skeleton which will now be clothed in the next few days. At last, after several years of wrangling, many events to raise the funds and the awareness and the tireless work of many members of the team, we will have the Sir Samuel Kelly protected from the wind and rain. Now it will have a chance to dry out before the real work of restoration and the associated fund-raising begins. Come on down to the Marina Car Park and see what is happening. Don't forget, we are always looking for people to join us in our efforts. If you can give some of your time and expertise, please get in touch. By the way! Does anyone have an old plastic heating-oil tank they would be willing to donate? If so, please call Alan on 07808 366930 and we'll arrange to take it off your hands.
